Campus Connect Recruiting App for Android

MY ROLE
Redesign of Campus Connect, Visual and Interaction Design.

Android Development: Sam Wolfand

GOALS
Campus Connect was created to recruit top college students to work at Capital One. It had been built without a designer so I made a list of recommendations, and redesigned it to be a unified experience.

Process

I created highly simplified flows and studied Android Material Design.

Starting with Capital One's doudy blazer blue and dusty blood, I brightened everything up to create a more engaging look for a younger audience. I wrote clear, easy to understand micro-copy where necessary.

I created flows as well as a UI and type component sheet, discussing my ideas with Sam Wolfand, the Android Developer as I went. He had great ideas and enthusiasm which inspired features such as the custom action sheet.

Users could roam through the app freely without signing up, this step was not prompted until it was neccesary for a user action.

The icons are silly to visually communicate that working at Capital One is fun and in many roles, doesn't feel like working at a bank.

COMPONENT SHEET

This was the component sheet I made to explain the type hierarchy, colors and button states.
